One million points to Beijing for the impressive way of lighting up their torch.

Special Olympics have been held outside America

More than 7,000 athletes from 160 countries are in China to take part.

It is only the second time the Special Olympics have been held outside America, and the first time they have been held in Asia.


The event lasts for nine days and the athletes will compete in 25 different sports.


This is the torch for the Special Olympics. Next year the Olympics and Paralympics will also take place in China, in the capital Beijing.


The Special Olympics are for athletes with learning difficulties, and encourages them to take part in sport around the world.
